Through this module, we are going to explore the ideas of mass tourism and effective ways to turn it into environmentally sustainable tourism, as well as the factors that make this shift pivotal. 

More specifically, this module will try to:

• Define mass tourism

• Give an overview of the interconnectedness between tourism and environmental challenges

• Elaborate on effective strategies to minimize the environmental footprint of tourism

• Provide suggestions on how to monitor the environmental impact of tourism

• Present case studies that function as good examples of environmentally sustainable practices of tourism.
