Module 3 – Unit 3.2. Green talent and sustainable tourism

In the face of a competitive and socially responsible environment, it is considered that talent management can contribute to improving sustainable business performance (Elzek, Solima, Riyami, Scott, 2022). Similar observations have been promoted for the tourism and travel services such as travel agencies, hotels and others, highlighting the fact that, for their success, they too rely on motivated and talented staff with a mix of technical and ‘soft’ skills (Deery & Jago, 2015).

This Unit will introduce green talent and talent management as important parts of sustainable tourism development. It will explain the importance of specific skill sets for sustainability, as well as the importance of proper talent management in a sense of identifying talent needs of your business, attracting talents, hiring talents, development and retaining talents.
